DENVER PIONEERS

Head Coach: Bill Tierney
Denver welcomes new head coach Bill Tierney, who won six NCAA titles in 22 seasons at Princeton. The Pioneers boast three members on the pre-season all-ECAC team in senior Dillon Roy, senior Charley Dickenson and sophomore Mark Matthews. Roy was selected as the pre-season defensive player of the year after securing 47 ground balls and causing a team-high 23 turnovers last season. Conference coaches also named freshman midfielder Chase Carraro as ECAC pre-season rookie of the year.
FAIRFIELD STAGS

Head Coach: Andy Copelan
Fairfield opened last season winning six of its first eight games and recorded its first winning season since 2006. Sophomore midfielder Brent Adams led the Stags in scoring as a freshman last season with 27 points, including a team-high 11 assists. Sophomore John Snellman returns after tying for the team lead with 18 goals.
GEORGETOWN HOYAS

2009 Record: 7-7
Head Coach: Davie Urick
Georgetown, ranked 13th in the nation by Inside Lacrosse magazine, is part of the inaugural season of BIG EAST men’s lacrosse in 2010. Senior captain Greg Dowd led the Hoyas with 32 points last season, and also had a team-high 22 assists. His 1.57 assists per game ranked second in the ECAC and 17th nationally. Senior Scott Kocis finished second on the team with 29 points and earned first team all-ECAC honors.
MASSACHUSETTS MINUTEMEN
Conference: Colonial Athletic Association
2009 Record: 9-6
Head Coach: Greg Cannella
UMass is leaving the ECAC for the Colonial Athletic Association starting this season. The Minutemen won the ECAC title in 2009 and are the only team in the ESPNU Warrior Classic field to reach the NCAA Tournament, dropping a 10-7 decision to Princeton in the first round. The team loses four of its six leading scorers but do return senior Diogo Godoi, a pre-season second team All-America selection. Godoi anchored a UMass defense that finished 11th nationally in fewest goals allowed per game (7.93).
